Comments from May 2013/Dark Skies Review

Greetings,

The month of may had a few comments, but they were all spam comments once again from an anonymous Japanese individual. As you know last month I attempted to reach out writing in Katakana/Hiragani hoping they'd get the message. So since there are no comments to respond too... I will instead review the movie "Dark Skies" that I just watched.

The movie had a theatrical release around February of 2013, and was just released to DVD late May 2013.
A brief synopsis of the movie is as follows; a small suburban family in Los Angeles, California begin to experience a series of unusual events. They events escalate over a number of weeks leading up to the July 4th Holiday. The family is currently under stress from the economic woes and job market, leading to martial trouble with the spouses. They have a 13 year old and 7 year old son, who have a close relationship. The unusual events get worse, and the father is confronted with proof of what is going on. Something the wife has suspected. In the end they attempt to seek answers, but find a dire warning.... their children are in danger.

The Positive Parts:
-Soundtrack. The DVD menu screen and score soundtrack hit the "ringing" and "oscillating hum sound" very closely. That did bother me as it hit to close to home. It even replicate the low frequency as it can be heard two rooms down.
-Entities: Throughout the film we get glimpses, they were very close to what I have seen. Again spot on. Their behavior too...especially the disappearing and touching on the back of the neck hit close to home.
-Knowledge: They hit almost every red flag, albeit it was "intensified and crammed". They packed the experience with a lot of knowledge. Plus they know how they behaved..... the writer definitely hit some hard core stuff... so they definitely have read our blogs and forums.

The Negative Parts
-Cramming: It felt rushed and the hit as many telltale signs and foreshadowing as possible. It got to the point of really.... over a course of a few weeks and all this happening.... no one notices and you have trouble accepting what is going on?
-Intensification: They dialed the experiences up to the max, still made it subtle, but were to exaggerated. A simple nose bleed is a torrents of blood, possession,.... major stuff happens in a busy neighborhood and no one notices?
-Misinformation: The expert in the movie was well.....off. He himself was an experiencee, yet he surrounded himself like a nut with newspaper clippings and drawings of them. He also kept tabs on missing persons.....
Several thing he mentioned were out of the ball park....I don't know because they wanted him to have a sense of realism in the fact he was fallible or they just had their facts wrong.... but their were some things he said that I was like.... "you did not do your research".

Overall the movie is worth seeing, it will scare you.....if suspended disbelief in the fact that the police are morons here..... and people display poor common sense, but I thought the movie was good...it delivered the feeling of fear and wasn't as awkward as "The 4th Kind" .
