This is am interesting documentary on 30 aliens species that have been commonly sighted on earth.
The majority of the information presented here is from various sources, however the original link does not provide who or what has given this detailed information. The video also uses imagery from a variety of fictional sources, many of them from older cartoons such as as Dino-Riders, a pic from Farscape, and does mention that one alien race was the inspiration for Independence Day.
It is important that someone is cataloging and noticing the differences. As I have suspected more than one race is involved.
