Good Darkness/Evil Light

One thing I have encountered many times is the absolute idea that "Black/Dark is Evil" and "White/Light is good". Many times in are euro-centric cultures this has flipped flopped, where white/light is bad and dark/black is good. In Christianity Lucifer who is the opposite of GOD is the Fallen Angel of Light.... and therefore bad.... GOD itself is a being of pure Darkness.... as if we go by biblical scriptures he created light... and his true being in that of the Dark or else there would be a paradox since GOD would then create himself since he made light. In eastern philosophies it is at least taught there must be a balance. Both light and dark are simple the same element on opposite extremes, each linked within the same essence.

So there are a number of individuals who express that light is a force of good and love. Logically this has not made any sense to me for the following reasons:

-Light is a form of radiation which can burn and consume a person
-Light blinds more that it reveals. No only in the direct since, but it can be overwhelming and create illusions.
-Light is hate, as above is deceptive and angry as it seeks to devour.
-Under the light subjective truth is revealed causing discord.
-Light is created and eventually is destroyed, thus temporary state.

Now darkness on the otherhand...

-We Rest and rejuvenate in darkness
-Love is made in the dark.
-Faith can only grow in the darkness
-Secrets are revealed in the dark, Twilight marks the time of spirits and things are revealed there after...to
be silenced once the light shines on.
-The Darkness does not blind, but teaches you to balance your senses, illusions disappears as truth unfolds.
-It is the natural state of the Universe, the Primordial.
-Darkness is eternal
-Darkness Shields and Protects

So is it the visual connotations I have a problem with? Perhaps. Yet I see Dark as Benign, and Light as Malign. If we look through the lens of mythology we see that their are a number of gods of darkness who in fact are benign. Many of these gods are associated with the primordial state of the universe, magic, trickery, underworld, death, cold, water, earth, crystals, balance, and the lunar cycles. Also one must remember that Death/Underworld is a modern misnomer, it means transition/spiritual realm, just like Trickster deities are often seen as malign but they have a greater agenda like Sun Wu Kong, Coyote and Loki. There actions may seem evil or chaotic, but due have a greater have a high reasoning.

Science though make it more complicated. What we call light is part of the electromagnetic spectrum. What we envision is visible light....everything we see. However, there are various frequency it travels at...in the form of x-rays, gamma-rays, radio waves, and micro-waves....meaning light can be heard and felt. And since in these spectrum... we do not "see" light... rather than feel.. what does this mean? In science the whole good/bad axis is not present. X-rays who lie on one end are neither good or bad when compared to microwaves on the other end. We don't even take into account the UV and Inferred when we look at the visible spectrum, UV would be evil and infrared would be good??? Ironically here UV lights reveal a whole world to us unseen...while the infrared while fry you to a crisp. Plus there are the elements of Dark Matter, something in space we really can't quite explain as well. If science has proven that light can be manipulated and measured, wouldn't the opposite also be held true? Perhaps technology will understand darkness....gravity.. what it  could be.

In the end it is your own personal interpretation.... and if walking in the light as opposed to in the shadows is your thing so be up. However, the safe cover of night is a path that some do walk. It does not mean that they are evil. Perhaps attaching meaning to light and darkness is not a helpful thing, we should see it as neutral and rely on our others sense to determine their intent. Perhaps it has to do with the idea of "ascension", but then again that I believe is a misnomer a well. If you look from a 3D perspective it means you fall far away from the core.

I do hold the ideals though of co-operation, enriching ones life, and leaving behind a positive influence on the world. Yet our perception of things are important.... has the idea of the "Light" being benign causing things to be out of balance? Darkness is good..... at least to me. After all just a century ago... heroes wore black and villains dressed in white. What happened? Perhaps I am in the wrong time.
