Movies: Get Crazy

An obscure film featuring Jeff Daniels, Malcolm McDowell, and Ed Begley Jr. is about a small local "Hollywood" concert venue, known as the Saturn, being threatened to shutdown by big business in 1983.
The crew of the Saturn do what they can to ensure the New Year's Eve concert goes on without a hitch. Big Business wants to buy the theater so they can building bigger buildings. However the owner of the theater refuses to sell. A greedy nephew who will inherit the theater makes a deal and tries to make the venue fail. In the end the crew manages to pull of the NYE concert, save the building from blowing up, and get back at big business. The movie itself has many weird moments.... from a drug peddling alien, slapstick comedy, and many weird other things.

Electric Larry
The movie feature three appearance by a mysterious drug dealer known as "Electric Larry" who seems to haunt the Saturn. What is really odd is his appearance and attire, he appears to by a Shadow Person, but by all looks he seems to be some type of alien. He is dressed in a tight form fighting leather outfit and a broad rimmed hat. He is very lithe....you cannot see his face and has glowing red eyes. He seems to teleport in a bright flash of light and offers individuals "mood alterations" in the form of pills, cocaine, and LSD. He seems to have telekinetic powers. He only communicates one time during his last appearance in the film, "Wishing all a Happy New Year".

1st appearance at 10:19, 2nd appearance at 56:27, and last appearance at 1:03:31.

What is weird is that in my opinion he is an Alien. This film was done in the early 80's, and someone got the alien down. What is odd is the subtext, on how everyone knows about him... and accept the seemingly other wordly being among them. Especially when they are distracted and in an altered state thanks to drugs.
Some individuals turn to drugs because of visitations or as a result of searching for them.

Did anyone see Electric Larry like this too?
